There is a fine sediment settling at the bottom of my cold-pressed oil bottles, more in the sesame than the mustard. I understand that unrefined oils are not filtered the way refined ones are, so some solids are expected. What I do not know is whether that sediment goes rancid faster than the oil above it, and whether I should be pouring off the clear oil or shaking it back in. What have sellers told you, and what do you actually do at home?
